David Bakradze nominated as Georgian opposition's presidential candidate

Leader of the parliamentary faction of Georgia's pro-presidential United National Movement party David Bakradze has been nominated as the party's presidential candidate.

Bakradze defeated former minister for EU affairs Geogy Baramidze and MPs Zurab Dzhaparidze and Shota Malashkhia at the primaries.

Among other candidates are representative of the ruling Georgian Dream Coalition Georgy Margelashvili, former parliamentary speaker Nino Burdzhanadze, Christian-Democratic leader Georgy Targamadze and the Labour Party's leader Shalva Natelashvili.
