The acting head of Ingushetia, Yunus-Bek Yevkurov, has dismissed the chairman of the Committee on Youth Affairs, Islam Tsechoev, for failing to implement the federal target program "Housing for young families," the press service of the head of the region reports.

Speaking at an extended meeting on the situation surrounding the construction of housing for young families, orphans and families living in dilapidated houses, the head of Ingushetia criticized the work of the Committee and the Ministry of Education.

According to Yevkurov, the decision to build housing instead of allocating funds for young families was taken in order to prevent a corrupt component. "It used to be that young families received only 50% of the amount at best. This money could not buy a house or an apartment," the head of Ingushetia remarked. Two apartment block buildings have already been constructed.

"With the commissioning of these two houses the implementation of programs is not over," the Acting Head of Ingushetia said. "We will continue to build until we provide housing to those in need,"  Yevkurov said, adding that at the moment the republic has about 750 orphans who are homeless, ITAR-TASS reports.
