New head of Makhachkala police appointed

The Makhachkala police will be headed by the Colonel Yusuf Murtazaliyev, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Dagestan announced.

"Colonel Murtazaliyev has been appointed acting deputy chief of management-police chief of Makhachkala. Previously Murtazaliyev worked as the head of the Economic Security Department at the Interior Ministry of Dagestan," Interfax quotes the official statement. 

His predecessor, Raip Ashikov, has been fired from the Interior Ministry. The reasons for his resignation are unknown.
