Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili, who is currently in Singapore, made some statements relating to the country's future development.

"Everybody must analyze and think over the situation," he stressed. "Everybody must think how to improve the situation, stop the economic downturn, strengthen the economic growth and development of Georgia."

According to him, Georgia has achieved much in the last eight years.

"We had a lot of internal and external problems, but despite this the economy was rapidly growing annually," he added.

"We showed the positive emigration balance. More people returned to Georgia compared to those who left the country. New cities were built. If this development continues for 20-30 years, we will live better than Singapore. Perhaps, we will fail to catch up with their income, but it is possible on the general level of development. We must believe. We are persuaded in vain that our nation is undeveloped, that Georgia is a small village, mental and intellectual capabilities, bad traditions will not allow us to develop. This is unacceptable and wrong. I have seen working and ambitious Georgia. Georgia must continue such development," Trend quotes him.
