Financing procedures of political parties changed in Georgia

Yesterday, the Georgian parliament passed amendments to the law on financing political parties adopted in December 2011, Trend reports.

Legal bodies gained permission to grant political parties a maximum of 120,000 lari. Individuals may still donate no more than 60,000 lari to parties.

Parties with 4% of votes in parliamentary polls or 3% in local polls will get state financing.

14 qualified subjects will get state financing.
