Zyazikov to run for leader of Ingushetia

Murat Zyazikov, Russian Deputy Plenipotentiary Presidential Envoy to the Central Federal District, was promoted by the Russian People’s Union as a candidate for Leader of Ingushetia, ITAR-TASS cites head of the union Nakir Dorbiyev.

Sergey Baburin, head of the Central Political Council of the Russian People’s Union, approved the candidate. The On July 19, the General Council of the United Russia Party approved candidates for leader of Dagestan and Ingushetia who will be introduced to President Vladimir Putin. Ingushetia will have elections of its leader (elected by the parliament) on September 8.

According to constitutional amendments passed by the Ingush parliament in May, heads of regions will be elected by the parliament. Ingush acting Leader Yunus-Bek Yevkurov and Deputy Speaker of Parliament Magomed Tatriyev are running for Leader of Ingushetia.

Yevkurov promised to reshuffle 60-70% of government after winning the elections.
