Stanislav Cherniavskiy calls for a "Caucasian Four'' to be recreated
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaToday the director of the Center for Post-Soviet Studies, Ph.D in History, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Envoy of the second class Stanislav Cherniavskiy met with reporters and appealed to parliamentarians to recreate the "Caucasian Four'', in which the speakers of the parliaments could discuss various pressing issues.
''Moreover, it makes sense to promote the role of the Interparliamentary Assembly, especially in regards to the problems with Georgia,'' the newspaper Parlamentskaya Gazeta quotes Cherniavskiy.
Speaking of Georgia, the expert noted that most investments come there from Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan." The Azeris are building facilities for liquefying gas. This country can serve as the mediator in the relationship between Russia and Georgia," Cherniavskiy said, describing the current relations between Baku and Tbilisi as "friendly." ''Azerbaijanis lived through the Russia's war with Georgia in 2008 very painfully,'' the expert recalled.
