US ready to cooperate with Iran

The United States is ready to hold serious talks with Iran, if the country fulfils its international obligations, Spokesman for White House Jay Carney says on Sunday following the inauguration of new Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.

"If the new administration is committed to its international obligations and decides to seek the peaceful solution to the conflict, the United States will be back this initiative," he said.

The spokesman also said that the United States hopes that the election of Rouhani will mark the new page in Iranian history.
