Dmitry Medvedev: Russia and Georgia have a chance to restore relations

Moscow perceives positive signals from Tbilisi aimed at normalizing bilateral relations, Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev said in an interview with Georgian TV channel "Rustavi-2" on the eve of the fifth anniversary of the events of August 2008 in the Caucasus. Today, announcing the interview, the channel published just a few brief remarks by Medvedev, a full version of the conversation will be aired on Tuesday night.

"Of course, we hear everything... I want everybody to hear about it, including the citizens of Georgia ...," Medvedev said, answering the question of "Rustavi-2" as to whether Moscow is registering the signals coming from Tbilisi after the change of government in Georgia.

In the interview with "Rustavi-2" the prime minister said that the military conflict in 2008 remains a serious problem in bilateral relations, but noted that there is a chance for their normalization. "This is a problem for Russia and Georgia ... You know, there's always a chance ..." RIA Novosti quoted Medvedev.
