Dagestani representative wants consolidation of Russia

A police officer was gravely injured during when trying to detain a suspect at the Matveyevsky Market in late July. Alexander Yermoshkin, permanent representative of Dagestan, noted that the outrage over the incident demonstrated a mix of several unresolved problems.

He noted that the incident shows the need for consolidation of the Russian nation, as urged by President Vladimir Putin and discussed at a round-table conference yesterday. The expert spoke out against focus on the ethnic background of the people involved. He said that the court will give comments on the incident.

Yermoshkin pointed out the need to bring up the new generation that would not allow such incidents to happen. At the same time, he wants the authorities to work on problems of the law enforcers.
