Eilat Airport closed for safety reasons

The Israeli army today ordered Eilat Airport to cancel all flights that take off and land and to close the area "until further notice".

According to Israeli media, so far planes are taking off from the airport, but those landing are diverted to Ovda airport, RIA Novosti reported.

Eilat is located on the border with Egypt and Jordan, and has been repeatedly exposed to rocket attacks.
