Russian minister of sport says calls for boycott of Sochi Olympics are hopeless

Russian Minister of Sport Vitaly Mutko says the recent calls for a boycott of the 2014 Sochi Olympic Games are hopeless, Ekho Moskvy report on Friday. The official also believes sport should be free from politics.

Several prominent public figures, including British TV star and author Stephen Fry, have recently called for a boycott of the Sochi Games due to severe human right violations in Russia.
