Azerbaijan and Israel to sign cooperation deal for agriculture

Azerbaijani Minister for Agriculture Ismet Abasov said at a meeting with Israeli Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador Rafael Kharpaz yesterday that their countries will sign a deal to cooperate in agricultural development, Trend reports.

Agroleasing purchased four irrigation systems of Israel in 2010-2012. The systems were set in the Geranboy District (170 hectares), Kyurdamir District (380 hectares) and Yevlakh District (200 hectares).

Agroleasing bought two greenhouses with an area of 2 hectares each from Netafim to build them in the Absheron and Samukh Districts.

Abasov made proposals on development of bilateral cooperation in agriculture, exchange of experience, organization of seminars and symposiums. Kharpaz invited Abasov to the VATEC exhibition hosted by Israel in October 2013.
