Vladikavkaz ambulance staff on strike

8 ambulance brigades (instead of 17) in Vladikavkaz (North Ossetia) have started a strike today and demand higher wages, more vehicles and better conditions for work, Interfax-South cites ambulance driver Tamerlan Vatayev.

The driver said that many ambulance workers had a salary below 10,000. Deputy Healthcare Minister of North Ossetia Taymuraz Revazov arrived to the protesters and urged the strikers to stop. The protesters said that they will not resume work until they their demands are fulfilled.
