Iranian foreign minister becomes nuclear chief

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has appointed Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi as the head of the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization, Trend reports.

Salehi was the Iranian representative to the IAEA in 1997-2005, Vice President of the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization in 2009-2010 and became the Foreign Minister during presidency of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on January 30, 2011.
