Azerbaijani president notes economic progress of Turkic states

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said at the 3rd summit of the Turkic Council in Qabala (Azerbaijan) that all the Turkic states had economic progress, despite the global economic and financial recession. He reminded that the economy of Azerbaijan had expanded over 3-fold and that Azerbaijan had launched the first satellite in early 2013.

The president asserted that Turkic states had great potential for economic cooperation, for example, in tourism. He proposed exhibitions to demonstrate the tourism potential of Turkic states, joint presentations.

Aliyev noted that the Caspian Seaport will become the largest one in the region. Its capacity will increase from 10 to 20 million tons.
