Elections in Georgia to proceed without any ruin of "Georgian Dream", experts say
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThere is a general assumption that the "Georgian Dream" coalition may be presented next year in the local elections not as a single coalition, but as a number of separate and independent parties, the political scientist Iosif Tsikarishvili told Vestnik Kavkaza. However, information about the intention of the minister of defense Irakli Alasania to take his party "Our Georgia - Free Democrats" out of the "Georgian Dream" coalition, which has appeared in some local media, is highly questionable.
"Nothing is impossible in this world, and, of course, Mr. Alasania may be unhappy about the fact that it was not he who was selected as the candidate for president of the "Georgian Dream". But, as defense minister, he is very active in his work, and at the moment he is in the United States and is meeting with the head of the U.S. armed forces. Accordingly, there were no specific statements in this regard, Tsikarishvili underlined.
