Ukraine’s Altcom to build bridges in Turkmenistan
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe Altcom Road Construction Company (Ukraine) was hired to build a car and railway bridge over River Amu Darya for the Turkmenabat-Farab Road, Trend reports.
About a thousand people will be hired to build the bridges in three years. They will need over 55,000 cubic meters of armored concrete and over 9,000 tons of metal.
The railway bridge will be 1750m long and will be able to withstand an earthquake with a magnitude of 9 points on Richter scale.
The car bridge will be 1600m long. It will be high enough to allow ships to pass under it. The bridge will be built with account of the changing stream of Amu Darya. The four-line bridge will be 21.5m wide.
The project will be realized according to contacts signed with the Turkmen Ministry for Railway Transportation and the Turkmen Roads State Concern.
