Georgian export of sheep to Asian countries increases.
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaAccording to the minister of agriculture of Georgia, the demand for Georgian sheep in Iran has increased and today 1000 sheep were exported, informs Business Грузия.
"It is important, that the demand for Georgian production grows. By the end of the year we plan to export 350,000 sheep to the Asian market, and that is a good factor for developing our economy. It is important that a new export production appeared, which is an precondition of opening new markets," said Kvezerelly.
According to statistics, in 2009, 267,144 sheep were exported from Georgia. Sheep were exported to Armenia, Jordania, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon and Azerbaijan.
