First female press secretary appointed at Iran's foreign ministry

Marzie Afham has been appointed as the first ever female press secretary of the Islamic Republic's foreign ministry, Trend cites the Iranian newspaper Sharq as saying. Afham will now replace Abbas Aragchi.

New Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has previously called for gender equality in Iran and said that he is going to appoint many women to the country's top posts.
