Negotiations are not what Syria needs in order to overcome the crisis, President Bashar al-Assad says.

He explained that the military were fighting terrorists, 80-90% of which belonged to Al Qaeda. Assad emphasized that the terrorists were not interested in reforms or politics and should be neutralized.

The president believes that Western states should take his side instead of threatening it. Any attack on Syria will be countered, Assad concluded.
