BTA ex-head’s lawyer arrested in Moscow

Yelena Tishchenko, one of the main lawyers of BTA ex-head Mukhtar Ablyazov, has been arrested on the order of the Moscow Tverskoy Court, RIA Novosti reports.

Ablyazov is suspected of financial violations worth over $6 billion in Kazakhstan.

Tishchenko was arrested for two months. She was detained in Moscow last week. According to investigators, she was legalizing Ablyazov’s illegal property using and preventing acquisition of $3.3 billion of assets of the Agency for Deposit Insurances.
