Russia will not get involved in foreign conflicts – Putin

Russian President Vladimir Putin said that use of force against Syria could only be sanctioned by the UN Security Council, ITAR-TASS reports.

Putin reminded about the false and unjustified arguments of the US at the beginning of the Iraq campaign. The Russian leader emphasized that the country was ready for decisive actions for Syria only if it will see proof about presence of weapons of mass destruction in the republic.

At the same time he noted that Russia will not get involved in any foreign conflicts. The president added that Russia had halted the shipment of components for S-300 complexes for Syria.
