Azerbaijan tops competitiveness chart of post-Soviet economies

According to the competitiveness rating of world economic of 2013-2014, Azerbaijan took the 39th position among 148 states, followed by Kazakhstan (50th), Russia (64th), Georgia (72nd), Armenia (79th) and Ukraine (84th).

Azerbaijan has become the to competitive economy of the post-Soviet space for the fifth time. It moved from the 46th position last year to the 39th. Macroeconomic development of Azerbaijan improved by 10 positions, market efficiency reached the 30th position, innovative potential 60th position, technological level 50th, quality of institutions 59th.

Azerbaijan has improved its rating by 30 positions since 2005, Kazakhstan and Russia both by 11.
