Russia's Putin accuses John Kerry of lying

Russian President Vladimir Putin  has accused US Secretary of State John Kerry of lying. According to Putin, Kerry told lawmakers that Al-Qaeda has no presence in Syria, while in fact the organization's position in the country is very strong.

Putin also stresses that the US Congress has no right to sanction a military operation in Syria. Such an operation should be approved by the UN, otherwise it would be aggression, Putin believes.
