Inhabitants of Dagestan require permit to grow hemp

In Dagestan, the residents of seven districts: Untsukulsky, Kizlyar, Buynaksky, North Stalsky, Shamil, Babayurtsky and Levashinsky, have made a request to allow them to grow hemp.

It is, as they say, of little use for narcotic purposes, the plant is used for traditional local dishes and in traditional medicine.

Anti-drug raids bring only a temporary effect. When the cannabis fields are destroyed, they are seeded again and again. "Women are the majority of offenders. Many of them have a suspended sentence for illegal cultivation of cannabis, but such measures are not effective because the drug-containing plants are much more profitable than potatoes and cucumbers," YUGA.RU reports.
