7 Russians bid for board of Bank of Cyprus

49 people are bidding to become members of the board of directors of the Bank of Cyprus. 12 of them are members of the temporary board, 37 were introduced by the bank’s shareholders. 7 of the latter are Russians, Vedomosti reports.

Vladimir Strjalkovsky, ex-Director General of the Norilsk Nikel Company and a friend of Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Leningrad Department of the KGB.

Other candidates are Angelica Anshakova, a member of the board of directors, Dmitry Chichikashvili, President of the Insigma Group and art dealer, Erishan Kurazov, Director General of Severnoye Domodedovo, Igor Lojevsky, deputy head of Deutche Bank in the Eastern Europe, Vladimir Sidorov, an ex-member of the VEB, and Anton Smetanin.
