Expert says SCO interested in cooperation with Iran

Member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization are interested in further cooperation with Iran, the executive secretary of the body's Business Council, Sergey Kanavsky, told Vestnik Kavkaza.

"Iran is already an observer in the Shanghai Cooperaration Organization and the economy plays a major role in the country's cooperation with the body's member states. This cooperation may be less successful than Iran would like, but it's still developing rapidly," he said.

"The steps necessary to enhance Iran's ties with the organization are being taken and the body's member states are interested in further cooperation with Iran. I believe this tendency will be strengthened in the future," the expert said.
