Arrested suicide bomber was preparing a series of attacks in Ingushetia

A terrorist with a "suicide belt" has been caught today in Ingushetia. He was preparing a series of terrorist attacks in Ingushetia and Chechnya, the National Anti-Terrorism Committee of the Russian Federation said.

The suspect, named Salman Machukayev, tried to secretly enter a police department, but was caught and his "suicide belt" with 250 grams of TNT was discovered. He said that he belongs to the terrorist group "Beslan Mahauri" and, together with his accomplices, was instructed "to carry out sabotage and terrorist acts on the territory of Ingushetia and Chechnya," RIA Novosti reports.

"According to the information received, Machukayev intended to shoot the employees of the police department and then commit a suicide bombing. During further enquiries, information was obtained about the terrorists' intent to commit a terrorist act with the use of a vehicle in the area of deployment of military units near the village of Alhasty in the republic of Ingushetia," RIA Novosti reports.
