Baku marks 95th anniversary of being capital

Baku is marking the 95th anniversary of being the capital of Azerbaijan.

The Azerbaijani government made Baku the capital of Azerbaijan on September 17, 1918, and moved there from Ganja. The city covers 2130 square km. It is located on the southern bank of the Apsheron Peninsula. It has 2,545,600 residents.
