US hail release of convicts in Iran
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaDeputy press secretary of the US State Department Marie Harf said that Washington was pleased with the release of 11 convicts, including human rights activist Nasrin Sotoudeh, in Iran, Trend reports.
She said that the release was the first sign of changes after election of President Hassan Rouhani in July.
The released convicts include journalist Mahsa Amrabadi, co-founder of the Reformist Party Feizollah Arabsorkhi and ex-Foreign Minister Mohsen Aminzadeh.
