Italian companies to get some 8 billion cubic meters of Azerbaijani gas

Elshad Nasirov, Vice President of the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) for marketing, said that Italian purchasers of gas within the framework of second stage of Shah Deniz development will get about 8 billion cubic meters of gas, Trend reports.

Bulgaria and Greece will get 1 billion cubic meters of gas a year each.

Long-term contracts for gas purchases were signed for 25 years in Baku with Shell, Bulgar gas, DEPA, Gas Natural Fenosa, EON, Gaz de France, Hera, Enel, Axpo. The first portions of gas will arrive in Turkey in 20018, in Europe in 2019. Gas will be pumped to Europe through the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP).
