US knew about S-300 missiles in Abkhazia

The US was aware of Russian intentions to locate an S-300 surface-to-air missile system in Abkhazia, claimed the official representative of the US State Department, Philip Crowley, reports RIA-Novosti. The situation came as no surprise to the US government, as similar systems had been located there several years ago.
