Azerbaijan to digitalize birth certificates

Azerbaijan is digitalizing birth certificates and replacing the paper ones with their digital copies, as stated by Jebrail Asadzade, Director of the Center for Healthcare Informatization at the Healthcare Ministry, Trend reports.

Civil Registry Offices have joined the system and will replace paper birth certificates with digital forms.

The initiative is still under discussions at the Justice Ministry. The Healthcare Ministry has already for the Registry of Birth Certificates. A common information system will have birth data of babies born in state-owned and private medical centers to simplify the process of receiving certificates at Civil Registry Offices.
