The percentage of crimes committed by migrants is exaggerated, the head of the Russian Federal Service of Migration's office in the Rostov Region, Viktor Solodovnikov, is quoted as saying by RIA Novosti.

"Less than 3 percent of all crimes in Russia are committed by foreign citizens," he said.

"This means that the figure is actually very small and it's often exaggerated."
