Turkmenistan to open embassy in Georgia
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaGeorgian Foreign minister Maya Panjikidze said after a meeting with Turkmen Deputy Foreign Minister Vepa Khojiyev in Tbilisi yesterday that Turkmenistan will open an embassy in Georgia, Trend reports.
The Turkmen Embassy in Yerevan will be used for contacts with Georgia initially. Georgia has already opened an embassy in Turkmenistan.
The sides met in Ashkhabad in 2010 for the first time, according to Panjikidze. She noted that little progress had been made since then and they had decided to intensify the diplomatic contacts. They discussed cooperation in education and culture. Turkmenistan wants to send students to study in Georgia.
