Erdogan did not invite Israeli ambassador to dinner party

Full-fledged membership in the EU is a strategic goal of Turkey, Turkish Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan said at a dinner party for diplomats accredited in Turkey, organized to mark the beginning of Ramadan, Trend reports, citing the Anadolu agency.

Israeli ambassador to Turkey Gabi Levi was not invited, CNN Turk reports. The assistant of the chairman of the ruling party, Omer Chelik, told journalists that the absence of the Israeli ambassador is due to the Israeli government's position on the incident of the ‘Freedom Flotilla’ and failure to fulfil Turkish demands.
