Russian PM to discuss Caspian resources in Astrakhan

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Vice Speaker Arkady Dvorkovich, Plenipotentiary Presidential Envoy to the SFD Vladimir Ustinov, Minister for Natural Resources Sergey Donskoy and Minister for Energy Alexander Novak will discuss hydrocarbons and their transportation in the Caspian Sea at the LUKOIL-Nizhnevolzhskneft Education Center in Astrakhan today.


Medvedev will visit the stationary platform named after Korchagin.


Russia started oil extraction in the Caspian Sea in late April 2010 with the launch of the stationary platform. LUKOIL-Nizhnevolzhskneft operates it. LUKOIL plans to start extraction at the field named after Filanovsky in late 2015 - early 2016. C1+C2 oil fields have 153.1 million tons of extractable oil and 32.2 billion cubic meters of gas.
