Middlesex County prosecutors obtain warrant for Tsarnaev
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaMiddlesex County prosecutors have obtained a warrant for accused Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev so they can araign him on charges that he murdered an MIT police officer in Cambridge, the Boston Globe reports.
Tsarnaev was indicted by a county grand jury in June for the murder of a police officer on April 18.
“It is the intention of the Middlesex District Attorney that the defendant stand trial for these charges in Middlesex County,” the Boston Globe quotes the District Attorney Marian T. Ryan’s office.
Prosecutors won the default warrant at a hearing this morning in Middlesex Superior Court in Woburn.
Tsarnaev is already being held in federal custody. He can be convicted to death penalty for allegedly planting the bombs that exploded near the Boston Marathon finish line on April 15, killing three and wounding 260 others.
