OSCE PA hails preparations for presidential polls in Azerbaijan

Doris Barnett, head of the monitoring mission of the OSCE PA in Azerbaijan, said at a meeting with Azerbaijani Speaker of Parliament Ogtay Asadov that the country was successful in preparing for the presidential polls, News Azerbaijan reports.

Barnett expressed satisfaction with the conditions for women in the electoral process. Asadov called the upcoming elections another practical step towards democracy.

Over 1,300 international observers of about 50 organizations from about 100 countries have been registered to monitor the elections. A total of about 40,000 observers have been registered.
