"Oath of Ataturk" abolished in Turkish schools

Andımız, also known as "the oath of Ataturk", has been abolished in Turkish schools in the framework of the democratization reforms launched by Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The project is widely criticized by the Kemalistv opposition as threatening the secular character of Turkish society.
