Azerbaijani elections meet international standards – TURKPA

Khaluk Ipek, head of the TURKPA monitoring mission in Azerbaijan, said that the presidential elections were peaceful and met international standards.

Ipek noted that a turnout of 72% at the elections was a good sign of active voters, especially among young people. The official praised the well-organized elections and equipment of polling stations.

According to preliminary polling results, Ilham Aliyev got 2,282,936 votes or 84.73%.
