BSEC PA highlights turnout at Azerbaijani presidential polls

Salia Murzabaliyeva, a member of the monitoring mission of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC PA), said that high turnout during the presidential polls in Azerbaijan was a sign of civil activeness and a sense of patriotism.

She added that there had been queues of people willing to cast votes since morning. The nation wants the political course to stay the same, the official believes.

Mikhail Manchvariani of the BSEC PA praised the well-organized elections and said that there were no violations registered. He added that the mission had been monitoring the process in Baku and Sumgayit and had encountered no obstacles.

According to preliminary polling results, Ilham Aliyev got 2,282,936 votes or 84.73%.
