Zaza Gabunia: receptions of Tbilisi City Hall cost the budget half a million laris

Tbilisi City Hall in 2012 and the first half of 2013 spent 484,255 laris on receptions and restaurants, the chairman of the the faction "Georgian Dream - Democratic Georgia " Zaza Gabunia said today at the Tbilisi City Assembly.

According to his explanation, in January 2012 City Hall held a meeting with 3400 chairmen  at a cost to the budget of 79,616 GEL.

The amendments to the budget allowed the municipality to spend  so much money in the restaurant, Gabunia said, adding that according to the agreement formulated in March 2012  the municipality spent another 29,591 GEL for the same purpose, Georgia Online reports.

According to his information , on April 26,201,224,944 GEL were spent on a reception for 120 people and another 25,000 laris were spent on May  17-19 on 130 people.

Gabunia insists that this money from the city budget was spent in the party's interests for the benefit of party activists, adding that these documents will be handed over to law enforcement authorities to establish their legitimacy and compliance with the organic law " On Political Unions of Citizens".
