CSTO holds counter-terrorism drills in Chelyabinsk Region
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe CSTO held the Indestructible Brotherhood 2013 drills in the Chebarkulsky Range (Chelyabinsk Region, Russia), said Col. Yaroslav Roshchupkin, Assistant Commander of Forces of the Central Military District, ITAR-TASS reports.
According to the scenario of the drills, a Russian helicopter discovered a suspicious convoy. Kazakh peacekeepers stop the convoy and confiscate the shipment of guns, grenade launchers, missile systems and explosives sent to field commander Abu Amar. The militants open fire at the peacekeepers. A Mi-24 helicopter helps resist the militant attack.
The drills started on Monday. Over 2,500 soldiers from Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Russia and Tajikistan were mobilized under the command of Colonel-General Nikolai Bogdanovsky, Commander of Forces of the Central Military District.
