Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov says he hopes the next round of Geneva talks devoted to the Iranian nuclear crisis scheduled for October 15-16 will be a breakthrough.

However, member of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences Vladimir Sazhin believes that no definite agreements will be reached during this round of talks.

According to him, the event will be used by western diplomats in order to get acquainted with the new Iranian team appointed by President Hassan Rouhani.

"There is a new president in Iran, a new cabinet, a new team of nuclear negotiators. It seems like Iran is ready for compromise, (...) but I wouldn't expect any definite steps towards a resolution of the conflict so far," he says.
