Libya's Prime Minister Ali Zeidan says his brief kidnap this week was an "attempted coup" and blames his political opponents for the attack, the BBC reports.

In his television address to the nation, Zeidan said that an unnamed political party present in the congress was behind his abduction, the BBC informs.

Prime Minister Ali Zeidan was seized from a hotel in Tripoli on Thursday and held for several hours by armed militants.
