Russia needs grounds for meeting of foreign ministers of Iran and mediators

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said that a meeting of foreign ministers of Iran and six mediators was possible only if there are grounds for such talks, ITAR-TASS reports.

Catherine Ashton will be the chief negotiator, he noted.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said that Tehran wanted a new round of talks with six mediators in Geneva on October 15-16. Ryabkov said that the refusal of Iran to discuss uranium enrichment was not an obstacle for the meeting.
