Caspian countries create common virtual platform to share environmental information

The five Caspian states have created a common virtual platform to exchange information about the state of the environment in the Caspian region. The participants in the program are Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkmenistan, a press release received by the Vestnik Kavkaza states.

The virtual portal of the Center for Caspian Ecology was launched for the first time as a pilot project at the fourth session of the Tehran Convention Conference in Moscow in December 2012 and approved by the Conference as an effective tool for collecting, storing and sharing environmental information as well as making it available to the public and experts in the field.
