South Ossetia prioritizes membership in Customs Union

South Ossetian President Leonid Tibilov said at the second meeting with Vladislav Surkov, Russian presidential assiatant for South Ossetia and Abkhazia, that the primary goal of his republic was to join the Customs Union (Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan), RIA Novosti reports.

Tibilov described the restoration process of the republic, construction of social facilities, electrification of residential areas, increase of welfare of staff. He asked for assistance in capitalization of banks, ratification of trade agreement, reduction of prices for gas and electricity.

The president noted the importance of attracting investors and said that Russian investors will get advantages.

Surkov will spend another day in South Ossetia, observing social and economic facilities in Tskhinvali and other districts.
